Tissot “Antimagnetique” Oversized Wristwatch

An attractive, and extremely rare oversized wristwatch with a chrome and stainless steel case, gold sector dial, Arabic numerals, blued steel hands, and small seconds. Circa 1935.

Case: Stainless steel case with closed, stainless steel case back.

Bracelet: Calfskin leather.

Dial: Gold sector dial with Roman numerals and outer seconds track. Blued steel hands.

Movement: Manual wind, Tissot caliber. Movement number 591771.

Diameter: 43mm. Thickness: 9mm.

Condition: An extremely rare watch in excellent condition considering its age. Chrome and steel case is slightly oxidized and scratched.

Tissot was founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile Tissot in the Swiss city of Le Locle, in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains. Tissot introduced the first mass-produced pocket watch as well as the first pocket watch with two time zones in 1853 and the first anti-magnetic watch in 1929–30.
